12 products I'm loving right now.
I loved putting together my Christmas gift guides and so thought it might be fun to do a semi-regular sharing of some of my favourite products.
I absolutely love when others share of the products they find or discover that make their life easier. I find this especially so when trying to live more consciously as it’s required a lot more trial and error.
Enjoy!
Okay….get ready for an absolutely genius idea. A lid specifically made for pudding pots! We have a few of these pudding pots lying around that usually hold paints or something for craft time but with the lid they are a perfect size for those random leftover bits you don’t know what to do with! I bought a four pack but there is multiple options- and I’m actually in a lid surplus which can only mean I need to go out and find myself a desert…
This was on my wishlist for Christmas and I CANNOT believe I didn’t buy it sooner. I have saved so many squares of baking parchment and have found you need far less oil when using too- this should be a staple in the life of someone wanting to be more eco-conscious!
3. Scence Deodorant
I’ve mentioned on the blog a few times and over on Instagram that I have really struggled to find THEE deodorant. You know, the tried and tested and are completely happy with deodorant. For me deodorant needs to tick many boxes- no perfumes, no aluminium, no parabens or petroleum..the list goes on. I have tried so many and had settled on one that I liked but it wasn’t plastic free! However….recently and ironically i bought Joseph this deodorant for Christmas and have used it every day since! My problem with previous stick deodorants was that they were so solid in winter I was making rashes on my armpit by trying to drag a dry stick across- this one seems far softer though- maybe it’s the mango butter. We have the fresh cedar one- I’m a big fan of woodsy smells! It’s definitely on the higher price point but is seeming to last ages!
It’s a dream to have a Berkley Filter but in the meantime, I did some research and these charcoal filters were a great and affordable option. We have a large glass water dispenser we previously brewed kombucha in, so now keep that out for water with these filters in and we think the taste has improved. Charcoal does a great job of adding minerals and removing water impurities- you can read more online.
5. Alpaca socks
These again have been on a wishlist for a while and were purchased for me by a friend for my most recent birthday. I’m not even gonna pretend that I’ve washed them since I’ve had them….thanks to the self-cleaning nature of the wool I think i'm covered. Beautifully soft, cosy and natural…will be adding more pairs to my wishlist!
I recently wrote a post over here unpacking what all the fuss about bamboo is. I’m a big fan of bamboo activewear but a bigger fan of bamboo underwear- if you’ve not yet tried it i’d definitely recommend. You can get 15% of Boody with SLOWHOME
I was gifted a bottle of this a little while ago with no obligation to share but I absolutely love it and will be purchasing it again. I had been using Thieves cleaner (a blend from Young living) and then a homemade lemon vinegar surface cleaner but I just am sold on the smell of this. We have been using the Sicillian Lemon. All fragrance is naturally derived from oils which is a must for me- we are fragrance free if that’s not the case. We use it for everything from toilet to windows, to surfaces. The Refill pouch works out at £1.50 a refill which while a lot more than vinegar and lemon, is still a great saving for me compared to what I used to buy from the supermarket. There’s 15% off your first order when you sign up to the newsletter too.
8. Leon Coffee
I saw this a few weeks back in Sainsbury’s and after spending £8 or so a bag on our usual coffee that isn’t great for the budget was excited to find this. The coffee is triple-certified organic, fairtrade and world land trust. I don’t love the packaging, they say it can be recycled by returning into to larger Sainsbury’s stores but how many people will do that I don’t know. For £3.50 we loved the taste, and how it was made. I don’t think it will be a long term option but a great supermarket win. I believe they are also about to turn this to an online subscription too.
I can’t seem to find the website I purchased my broom from which is why I’m linking to the closest one I can find. Joseph thought i was totally nuts buying this broom because yes I usually value aesthetics over practicality….but let’s just say we were all pleasantly surprised. Looks great and works GREAT.
10. Chapter Organics Essential Oils
I recently left Young Living….I will write more about this another time. But have been in search of a smaller company, with a love for ethics and beautiful products without the systems and the selling. In love with these blends from Chapter Organics- perfect for gifts or to enjoy yourself.
We’ve been working with (new-ish) secondhand organic bed linen for a while now and after 5 years it was looking tired, stained and a little worse for wear. I’d seen linen bedsheets but didn’t know how completely amazing they were. They feel so luxury, soft and gentle. I love the mission of Piglet in Bed- and love even more that they’re based in West Sussex too. Well worth the investment, and made as something to treasure. I will no longer be letting mucky hands and porridge faces into our bed though!

Okay yes I’m biased. Holos was a company I started with friends a few years ago. Kombucha is based on an ancient Chinese recipe and is a sparkling fermented tea. It has powerful health benefits and is great for your gut. As a non-alcohol drinker, this is my answer to yet another lime and soda or ginger beer. Again, it’s a perfect one for gifting, for trying something new or to make a fridge staple. And….your purchase helps us achieve our mission of supporting survivors of slavery in the UK- you can read more on our website.
Enjoy!
